MDC Required Classes
MDC Rehearsals & Performances
MDC Rehearsals & Performances
MDC will have three age groups that may rehearse and perform separately or together based on scheduled productions and or events.
- MDC, Minis: Ages 8-9
- MDC, Juniors: Ages 10-12
- MDC, Teens: Ages 13+
MDC dancers are required to take the following classes each week within their age group:
- 1 Classical Ballet class
- 1 Jazz or Lyrical class
- 1 addi

- Ages 13+ must take 2 Ballet classes per week.

MDC dancers will be given the opportunity to lead annual productions, such as The Nutty Nutcracker, and also participate in more organic performance opportunities throughout the year at youth dance festivals, local community events, and professional sports games like the Philadelphia 76ers' half-time show.

MDC dancers will be given the opportunity to lead annual productions, such as The Nutty Nutcracker, and also participate in more organic performance opportunities throughout the year at youth dance festivals, local community events, and professional sports games like the Philadelphia 76ers' half-time show.
- MDC rehearsals for all age groups will be held 2x per month on Saturday afternoons. Tentatively between 1:00-3:00 PM. Schedule TBA in August.
- Additional rehearsals for annual productions and or performances may also be added.
- Additional master classes and training opportunities will be added throughout the dance year.

MDC Community Outreach
MDC dancers will perform and or volunteer at local community events throughout Collingswood and the southern New Jersey area.
Scheduled performances and community events may include:
- Annual parades
- Book festivals
- Farmers market
- Performing arts fundraisers
- Senior centers
- Local school productions

- Half-soles for Lyrical
- Black Jazz shoes for Jazz

Answer: Yes, much like our namesake, the Monarch butterfly, we too must grow and change over time.

Answer: MDC is a modern and inclusive training program that reflects the artistic direction and philosophies of today

Answer: MDC is a modern and inclusive training program that reflects the artistic direction and philosophies of today’s dance world and seeks to develop well-rounded dancers and performers, who are critical thinkers and confident leaders within their community.
Question: Are there separate MDC classes?
Answer: There are recommended classes for MDC dancers listed on the 2023-24 schedule, but dancers may register for any required class within their age group.
Question: When will MDC dancers learn their choreography for performances?
Answer: Choreography will be taught during class hours and during MDC rehearsals.
